Family Counselling Centre – Sarnia-Lambton invites applications from motivated, organized and respectful professionals to be a Casual/Relief worker on the Family Worker team of Supervised Access Program Lambton (SAPL). The team ensures a safe, neutral and child-focused environment for separated families to have visits and exchanges with their child(ren). The hours for this position will vary on a week to week basis based upon the needs of the program. The Centre currently operates on Wednesday and Friday evenings; Saturday and Sunday during the day. Family Workers ensure that visits and exchanges are safe for all family members by monitoring and keeping accurate and thorough documentation of visits and exchanges and by ensuring that family connections are maintained for the benefit of the child(ren). The ideal candidates will possess the following knowledge and skills:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma (preferably in the Social Services)
- 3 to 5 years relevant experience working with children & families
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Experience in child development and children’s mental health
- Demonstrated ability to defuse volatile situations
- Strong communication and written recording skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
