FAMILY COURT SUPPORT WORKER

FAMILY COURT SUPPORT WORKER
1 Year Contract – Part-Time 7 HRS / WK

We are currently seeking an independent, motivated, organized professional to provide direct services and support to domestic violence victims involved in the family court process in Sarnia. This position will work collaboratively with the existing services for victims of domestic violence to ensure victims have access to the supports they need at every stage of the court process. This service must facilitate the victim’s understanding of, and passage through, the family court system.

Tel-Check Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to provide daily ‘check-in’ calls to seniors participating in the Tel-Check program. The daily calls provide the seniors with social connection, emotional support and helps ensure their safety.

Training is provided.

Distress Line Volunteers

Volunteer positions with the Distress Line are now available for individuals wanting to ‘be there’ for others.

Volunteers receive free training to know how best to help when someone reaches out for assistance through the Distress Line.

Volunteer Puppeteers

“The Kids on the Block” program is looking for volunteer puppeteers to assist in the delivery of therapeutic storytelling to children. The program is designed to teach children about the importance of inclusion and acceptance, supports when faced with bullies, health and wellness.            

Training is provided. Volunteers will learn the techniques of puppeteering, programs and scripts and build skills in public speaking.

The Kids are back in town! Become a Volunteer Puppeteer with The Kids on the Block!

Family Counselling Centre’s “The Kids on the Block” Program consists of a troupe of life-sized puppets providing community education on diversity, inclusion and safety. Volunteers learn the art of Bunraku puppetry (hand-and-rod puppets) to present information to children in the community in a fun and effective way. We are looking for volunteers to join our team!
