FAMILY COURT SUPPORT WORKER

6 Month Contract – Part-Time 5 HRS / WK

We are currently seeking an independent, motivated, organized professional to provide direct services and support to domestic violence victims involved in the family court process in Sarnia.  This position will work collaboratively with the existing services for victims of domestic violence to ensure victims have access to the supports they need at every stage of the court process.  This service must facilitate the victim’s understanding of, and passage through, the family court system.

ADVOCACY PLANNING SUPPORT WORKER (Permanent)

Family Counselling Centre has a permanent, full-time Advocacy Planning Support Worker (APSW) position available.  The APSW provides trustee services, advocacy and case management assistance to individuals with a developmental disability living independently. The target population is individuals who have a developmental disability, based on an assessment of intellectual functioning and level of independence determined by the DSO.

Family Counselling Centre has a Counsellor Affiliate position(s) available. The successful candidate will provide individual, family and couple counselling. This work will be performed on an “on demand” basis. Hours of work will depend on need. Successful candidates will need to be available for call in on short notice.

Applicants should have a sound knowledge of social work practices, experience in solution-focused therapy, excellent interpersonal and written skills and comfort with computerized record keeping.
