Kids On The Block Coordinator

Type of opportunity: 

Part-time One Year Contract Position

Maximum 10 hours per week

We are currently seeking a motivated, independent, organized professional to coordinate a team to provide community education about developmental disabilities, substance abuse, sexual abuse prevention, multiculturalism, bullying, etc. through the use of life-sized puppets and volunteer puppeteers.   This position is responsible for recruiting, training and maintaining volunteers to present puppet plays including the promotion and scheduling of all presentations in the community. In addition this position is responsible for recording statistical information and maintenance of the puppets and equipment.  The Coordinator will be required to transport puppets and equipment to and from the presentations.  The Coordinator should be prepared to be involved in the actual presentations.  

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Post-secondary education
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing or promotion
  • Experience with training and scheduling
  • Positive attitude
  • A flare for drama and public presentations
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if required
  • Experience recruiting and managing volunteers would be an asset
  • Theatrical experience would be an asset
